3 years ago I had someone to hold and love in slow-lockdown

2 years ago I was unsure of where things would go as the world opened anew and questions arose

1 year ago I had projects, dates and fed the urge to build.

Now, as I debate solo kimchi and easter biscuit making, I find that things are OK, whilst knowing there is more in store.

Build I must
in Dark Gods and Ability, I trust.

Build fast
yet ensure it will last.

Build every day
even it means that I stay
late till the sun has set.
With time I buy my hard-earned chips,
make my bet,
so that when this ship
does sail,
I am the captain-navigator
proving that with time and dedication,
one can prevail.

Build hard
yet not leave everything in the dust
With Dark Gods and Ability, I must
find time to recover and play,
for this is the way of Warrior-Jester
who finds Humor in the Dark
a stark
contrast
that allows the blows to be dealt,
the parries to be made
whilst keeping one’s sanity intact
effectively within a palisade.

Rest I must
In Dark Gods and Ability,
I trust.
