Thought #281

Sometimes I feel that my line of work is very much like making meringues.

You start beating, and for the first while, you’re constantly wondering “is this going to come together?”.

You keep beating.

Then, you start seeing some foam and think “OK, it’s starting to come together.”

You keep beating, a bit more gently now.

Then, you get peaks – “OK, we’re nearly there now”.

You slow down to a slow beat, so you don’t screw it up.

Then, you test – you flip the bowl over your head and hope to the gods that the meringue doesn’t fall onto you.

Then you take said meringue and bake it – another art in itself.

Hoorah! You have made a meringue!

Thought #280

Ours to Win.

Thought #279

Mine to win or lose.

On all fronts – work-work, personal, physical, mental.

Onwards.

Thought #278

Surmount or Subside

Thought #277

Bet the house.

Thought #276

Sometimes the people you are on a journey with,
are only with you for part of the way
and when they’re gone on separate paths
from them you take rich learnings, which will last
and apply them to the coming days.

Thought #275

from the past reach into the present to make me ponder my future

Something happens to you, do not necessarily try to
Understand or ascribe meaning, instead
Regard the moment, be appreciative and do your best to
Remain grounded rather than entertaining an
Entropy of thoughts that could range from something meaningful to
Nothing.
Do not fear, life is unwinding in shapes and forms, yet stay
Engaged so that you will make the best of what you least expect – being
Responsive and agile, alive in the moment.

Thought #274

Being slower than I thought to
Leave the past, instead lingering there,
Only, mostly, remembering the good, yet mustering the
Courage to put one foot forwards, to
Keep pushing on, handling
Emotions that rise and fade, rise and fade, rise and fade, as
Deep inside I tell myself that it was excellent, even though it failed.

Thought #273

My uncle says “Things come when you least expect them”

I add “and most often from the most unexpected directions.”

Bukowski says “Be on the watch, the gods will offer you chances, take them”.

OK.

Thought #272

Heavy weights are instructive. Both when playing, processing and when building.
