When you’re wearing a suit of steel and need to cross a deep body of water, then your only choice is total immersion, or building a suitable flotation device.

ex-lovers partly returned
instead, surmount the issue
and have faith that things will work.

Do not shirk
what you have built
keep it going
it’s in the doing,
the knowing
that distance between present and past
is always growing,
that pain does not fully last,
it fades away,
round after round,

sooner rather than later
everything will be
safe and sound.
